I’m Nigel, or sometimes my mates call me Mac.

If you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or the complexities of everyday life, know that you're not alone; many men share these struggles, and having a trusted outlet can make a world of difference.

I can offer you support, the chance to speak freely and the opportunity to change for the better.

In our conversations, you'll not only find a listening ear but also gain access to a powerful toolkit designed to help you move forward. This includes practical coping strategies, resources to enhance your emotional resilience and tools to help you manage your reactions to situations that, until now, have triggered you.

My Approach

My approach to men's therapy starts with absolute confidentiality and discretion. This creates a safe environment where men can express themselves without judgment.

My view is that therapy isn’t just about addressing problems; it’s about developing a deeper understanding of oneself and fostering healthier coping methods. This will allow for lifelong change.

Initially, I encourage my clients to reflect on their emotions and experiences, helping them articulate what brought them to me in the first place.

Having studied REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) for three years, I use this as a foundation and refer to other methods I have come to know and trust so that sessions are tailored to your needs.

I believe in the power of collaboratively setting clear goals with my clients. Together, we identify what you hope to achieve from therapy and create a roadmap for our sessions.

With open dialogue and active listening, my straightforward approach aims to reduce the stigma often surrounding men’s mental health. By the end of the journey, many clients discover a greater awareness of their emotions and gain tools to confidently navigate life’s challenges.

  • "It’s difficult to know where to start when you are in need of help. As a man, felt it best to keep quiet about my issues and mask the problem in hopes that it would resolve itself. I came to Nigel for help with how I could stop being anxious and depressed, and quickly realised that in life, with all its ups and downs, there’s no quick fix. Nigel helped me understand my emotions teaching me the tools to overcome my fears and negative thoughts. With his guidance, I now approach the world with a new perspective."

  • "As a healthcare professional, I thought I would be able to manage the challenges I was experiencing with my mental health. After receiving a personal recommendation from a friend, I reached out to Nigel regarding his cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and counselling services. Nigel’s empathetic approach and expert listening skills provided a strong foundation for creating a tailored treatment plan. After just a few sessions, I was empowered with practical ‘tools’ to manage my emotions and better organise my thoughts. Nigel’s regular check-ins and CBT-based techniques gave me a proactive way to deal with the difficulties I was facing. We also evaluated the progress together during follow-up appointments, tweaking interventions as needed. I’m eternally grateful to have found Nigel. Before working with him, I would have never thought this type of therapy would work for me. Our society and culture often shy away from these approaches, but it really is good to talk. I’m now a huge advocate for Nigel’s method and expertise. I truly believe he has the professionalism and skills to help a wide range of individuals, particularly those (like myself) who may have been hesitant to seek help but are now empowered to overcome personal mental health challenges.”
